TLC Wheelchair Accessible Course WAV
The WAV course is a 3-hour course required by the TLC for all new driver applicants. It covers essential topics to ensure safe and respectful service for passengers using wheelchairs.
What the course includes:
- Overview of passenger and driver rights
- Instructional videos on safety procedures
- Hands-on training to practice securing a wheelchair in an accessible vehicle

TLC License Renewal Course
To renew your TLC license, you are now required to complete a continuing education course as part of the renewal process. This course lasts 4 hours and does not require an exam.
TLC License Renewal requirement:
- Complete the TLC License renewal application
- Complete the Renewal course
- Complete the TLC annual Drug test
- Complete the Defensive Driving Course (3 years)
Important: The course must be taken within 90 days before your TLC license expires, and it is required every three years. Be sure to complete it on time, as taking it late may result in additional fees, and failing to complete the course means you cannot renew your license .

Distracted Driving Course (PED)
The TLC Distracted Driving Course or TLC Portable Electronic Device (PED) Course:
Is a training program that teaches drivers about the dangers of using electronic devices while driving
Who must take the course
Drivers who are convicted of using a portable or hands-free electronic device while driving must complete the course. This includes drivers of TLC-licensed vehicles and non-TLC licensed vehicles
How to take the course Drivers must complete the course within 60 days of their hearing and provide proof of completion to the TLC. The course is two hours long.

What happens if the course is not completed
If the course is not completed by the specified date, the driver's license will be suspended and they will not be able to drive.
